Bradley Residence

What started as an open lawn in a marsh-side pine forest, is now a stunning gardener’s dream conservatory. Influenced by the styles French parterres and English gardens, this formal brick terrace of Japanese Maples and antique fountain is punctuated by a Hartley Botanic Victorian Manor greenhouse. A formal quad of citrus trees, benches and two ‘Kieffer Pear’ espalier in a green grid of bluestone with artificial turf serves as an outdoor foyer before entering the conservatory. Two cold frames with a sink and storage line the back of the greenhouse for easy sprouting and cleanup. Well crafted brick seat walls and columns with bluestone caps guide visitors to an antique cemetery gate before entering pristine lawn. Finally, a pergola serves as a gateway to an updated camellia garden, complete with a gravel path.
