This residence was designed with a minimal, naturalistic landscape. It features a rain garden with river rock, timber check dams, and various native grasses and sedges to assist with stormwater drainage. Also assisting with stormwater are large river rock troughs with timber borders. Stucco masonry walls surround the rain garden to create a lovely enclosed garden space around the bridge that connects the main house to the guest house. Blue stone stepping stones create a pervious path that connects the driveway and garage areas. Throughout the landscape there are native perennials to add a pop of color. Native grasses soften the existing hardscape and create a connection between the existing surrounding landscape and the more formal plantings near the residence. In the rear of the house, a water feature garden offers a peaceful water bubbler ambiance while looking out over the marsh.
